Tasquinha da Mata

Para inauguração do blog fui almoçar a este restaurante por recomendação, disseram que não era caro e comia-se bem.
Gostei das flores na fachada, um pequeno pormenor mas que faz diferença... principalmente a mim porque aqui no alentejo parece-me sempre tudo igual.
Assim que entrei, senti-me logo bem vindo e à vontade: sorrisos, bom ambiente, e nada de ensurdecedor. Informei os donos sobre a minha intenção e não houve nada de anormal na reacção, até houve lugar a uma graçola: - "Se a crítica for boa, tudo bem!"
Para além das entradas "normais" ou "regionais" (azeitonas, queijo, patês, e afins) vi a carta e quando perguntei o que me sugeriam, não houve nada de especifico. Por um lado foi bom porque é sinal que não desprezam nada na carta e assim ficamos com vontade de voltar e experimentar o resto. Optei por isto:

Alheira com arroz, batatas e ovo.
A apresentação não é especial, mas não se podia esperar mais visto ser o prato que é, curto e grosso, tal como é descrito na carta.
Com o colesterol a rebentar, pensei que a minha escolha me iria fazer rebentar ali mesmo, mas assim que provei senti que, aliado ao sabor da alheira ser belíssimo, houve o corte do limão mas lá dentro da alheira, o que fez com que enfardasse tudo sem me sentir nem cheio nem na iminência de um enfarte, consegui-me levantar da cadeira e tudo! A faca deslizava mas a alheira não se desfazia (um bónus), e a 8 euros o prato está muito bem a relação preço/qualidade.
O que gostei menos foi o facto de as batatas serem pré-fritas mas acaba por ser só mesquinhice para ter algo de menos bom a dizer. O serviço é familiar, muita simpatia e atenção. Podem ir à vontade que serão bem recebidos e, no fim, não saem depenados na carteira.

For the inauguration of the blog I had lunch at this restaurant by recommendation that said it was not expensive and you eat well.
I liked the flowers on the front, it´s a small detail that makes quite a difference ... especially to me because here in Alentejo they seem all the same.
As I entered, I felt just fine, smiles, good environment and no unnecessary noise. I felt immediately welcome and at ease. Informed the owners about my intention and there was nothing unusual in the reaction, there was even place for a joke: - "If the critic is good, all right!"
In addition to the entries "normal" or "regional" (olives, cheese, pates, etc) when I saw the menú and asked what they suggested, there was nothing specific. On the other hand it was good because it is a sign that nothing is despised in the menú so we want to go back and try the rest. My option was Garlic Sausage with rice, potatoes and egg. The presentation was nothing special, but you could not expect more of a dish that even the name is very specific, as described in the menú.
Bursting with cholesterol, I thought that my choice would make me explode right there, but after the first bite I felt the the taste of the sausage beautiful, mainly because of the lemon doing his part of cutting the taste of the fat but from inside of the sausage, which made me shove down all of it without feeling full or even on the verge of a heart attack, felt really good, I even manage to lift me up from the chair and everything! The knife sliced but the sausage did not crumbled  (a bonus) and 8 euros is good price / quality ratio.
What I liked the least was the fact that the potatoes were pre-fried but turns I´m only picky  to have something bad to say the least. The service is friendly, kindness and attention are a plus. Anybody can go there and will be well received and, in the end, you do not leave with an empty wallet.
